Poster Session

  • Eligibility
    • The Poster Competition is open to all users (with valid user cards).
    • The Oral Presentation Competition is open to users who are students, research assistants, or post-doctoral researchers.
  • The participants must select one of the three categories: Biological Science, Materials Science, or Phys./Chem. Science.
  • How to sign up?
    • Due to limited space, the Poster Session is exclusively available for online registrants and is not accessible for on-site registrants. When registering online, please complete the conference participation items before proceeding with the poster registration.
    • The Poster Competition: Please register online, submit a one-page English abstract (PDF file), and choose to become an entrant.
    • The Oral Presentation Competition: Please register online, submit both one-page and two-page English abstracts (PDF file), and choose to become an entrant.
    • Each eligible registrant can only select to become an entrant for either the Poster Competition or the Oral Presentation Competition.
  • Registration Deadline: August 25, 2023 (extended to September 1, 2023)
  • Evaluation Criteria
    • The Poster Competition
      • The Poster Competition: The panel of judges will assess the scores at the designated poster competition area during the two separate Poster Sessions on October 23 and 24. All entrants should stand by the poster during the entire judging time. On-site presentations are mandatory for all entrants in the poster competition and are limited to a maximum of 3 minutes.
      • Evaluation criteria: on-site presentation 60% and poster display 40%.
    • The Oral Presentation Competition:
      • In the first round, the review panel will evaluate the submitted abstracts and select entrants to proceed to the final round of the competition. The list of entrants advancing to the final round will be announced on October 6, and these selected entrants are required to email their presentation files (in English) to user@nsrrc.org.tw no later than October 20. The oral presentations will take place in the afternoon of October 23, 20 minutes each, in English.
      • Evaluation criteria: oral presentation 70% and poster display 30%.
      • Those who did not advance to the final round will automatically be included as entrants in the Poster Competition.
  • Poster size: 90 cm (width) × 120 cm (height).
  • All posters will be assigned a poster number and should be set up either between 8:30 and 9:30 or from 11:00 to 14:00 on October 23. (The poster display venue will be temporarily closed from 9:30 to 11:00)
  • All posters should be removed starting from 15:30 on October 25. Please do not remove the posters before this assigned time. Any posters remaining on the display boards after the meeting will be abandoned.
  • Awards and Prizes
    • The Oral Presentation Competition:
      The Glory of Taiwan: a prize of TWD 10,000 and a certificate.
      Awards of Recognition: a prize of TWD 4,000 and a certificate.
    • The Poster Competition:
      Awards of Excellence: a prize of TWD 3,000 and a certificate.
      Awards of Recognition: a prize of TWD 1,500 and a certificate.
    • Awards will be presented at the banquet on October 25. Entrants are encouraged to attend the banquet.
